20 Random Acts of Kindness

Like most people, we’ve taken a couple of hits in 2020. But through it, God has remained a solid faithful rock in our life. This alone has made it easier for us to keep our eyes on Him and not the world. Although I’m grateful for this year, I’m not oblivious to the bigger trials and tribulations so many people have faced. So as a result, I’ve been spending a lot of time reflecting on how I can bless and love those around me. After all, we’re blessed so that we can be a blessing. You have no idea how simple acts of kindness have encouraged me through hard seasons. We’re all human and sometimes we just need the sweet reminder that someone cares. So I’ve been intentionally planning out random acts of kindness each week to sprinkle a little extra kindness to those I come in contact with.

20 Random Acts of Kindness

  1. Send an unprompted compliment to a friend or family member
  2. Pay for strangers groceries, Starbucks, gas, etc.
  3. Doordash a loved one lunch
  4. Leave a neighbor a store-bought treat
  5. Leave Amazon (package delivery man) a care package (cold water, snacks, and note)
  6. Call and check on and have a conversation with an elderly family member
  7. Compliment a stranger on their outfit
  8. Share a friend’s small business on your social media
  9. Call a loved one, ask if they need prayer for anything, and pray with them
  10. Cook dinner for a friend
  11. Email a friend a gift card
  12. Overtip your delivery person and/or waiter
  13. Write a kind and encouraging note and give it to a stranger
  14. Send a new mom a pack of diapers
  15. Deliver doughnuts to your local law enforcement officers
  16. Donate blood if you can!
  17. Create care packages to hand out to the homeless in your community
  18. Next time you buy a book, buy 2 and send it to another bookworm friend
  19. Plan a life event party for someone special (birthday party, baby shower, bridal shower, etc.)
  20. A simple smile because it’s often the little things ?

For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink, I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home,  I was naked, and you gave me clothing, I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’ “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink, Or a stranger and show you hospitality, Or naked and give you clothing?  When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

Matthew 25:35-40
