February is coming up meaning the commercial scene is currently flooded with all things related to Valentine’s Day. Considering pink is one of my favorite colors and I love any excuse to doll up, Valentine’s Day is actually one of my favorite holidays.
Beyond the stereotypical reasons to love Valentine’s Day, I love the holiday because it forces me to sit down and reflect on all my relationships and how I can improve them and love that person better.

I love everything about a New Year. I love everything about reassessing my life, creating new lists and feeling like I’m getting a fresh start.
2019 was pretty special to me because it was the year I was able to get back on track personally after the wildly emotional year I had in 2018. Honestly, I couldn’t be more proud of all that I was able to accomplish when it comes to the personal growth I had in 2019.

Every year around this time I get an itch to assess the year and figure out what I have accomplished, take a look at my vision board for the year and figure out how to get back on track if need be. Being completely transparent with you about 50 percent of my 2019 vision board is a complete wash, but (surprisingly) I am completely ok with that.
Around March this year I decided to take the limits off of myself and focus on what gives me peace versus putting unrealistic expectations on myself based off of what I felt would make others around me “proud” or “satisfied”.

This summer I’ve honestly spent a lot of time experimenting with new products and trying new things and its been a breathe of fresh air. Needless to say Target, Sephora and Ulta has been my happy place— not that this is surprise or anything new.
Through trying so many new things I’ve found a couple staples that I wanted to share because they’re all too good not to share!
So I’ve officially been doing this stay at home mom thing for 17 months now. I remember when Shawn and I first decided that this was the journey we were going to take I was super hesitant because I wasn’t too confident on what my life would look like being dictated by a little person. I will admit it definitely wasn’t a walk in the park for the first year (well it’s still not) but I can confidently say we’re in a good swing of things now.

We’ve officially been married for 3 whole years and what a journey its been! I still remember when we were barely shy of a year of dating and you told me you were going to spend the rest of your life with me. My initial thought was wow, how can he be so confident…especially considering we were still long distance at the time.
But confidence is actually one of the many things I love the most about you; along with your heart for others and your strength. When the world throws us curve balls and I’m an irrational mess you always carry on and remind me that our faith and trust is in God and not in the world.

My sweet Raelynn turns one in a couple weeks! I know this sounds so cliche to say but it seems like just yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital paranoid by her every move and sound. Now she’s no longer my quiet and frail 5lb baby but my bold, strong-willed and loving girl and she’s growing up so beautifully right before our eyes! For her first birthday we invited some of our closest friends and family to spend the day with us at Disney (one of the perks of living in Orlando) and afterwards we plan on indulging in cake and singing Happy Birthday!
